La Cusinga Lodge, tucked along Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coast, offers a unique blend of comfort and natural beauty. You’ll have the choice between cosy wooden cabins with a rainforest view, or for families or larger groups there are two spacious ocean view rooms with a private balcony. Take a dip in the infinity pool, enjoy local treatments at the forest spa, and enjoy a taste of Costa Rica at their restaurant which serves up a variety of locally sourced cuisine.
One of La Cusinga's standout features to us is its commitment to sustainability, with solar energy powering the lodge and eco-friendly practices integrated into every aspect of its operation. Additionally, the lodge is situated near the stunning Ballena Marine National Park, offering you unparalleled access to pristine beaches and diverse wildlife.
Why we work with them
La Cusinga Lodge's history began in 1971 when owner John Tresemer, fell in love with the agricultural community and untouched jungles of Costa Rica's southern Pacific coast. Driven by a vision of sustainable living, he sought to balance respect for the area's natural wealth with the need for economic viability. Since opening in 1996, La Cusinga has evolved into a model of sustainability, integrating environmental stewardship with community development. The lodge employs eco-friendly practices like rainwater harvesting, solar energy, and organic gardening.
